The studentships cover  the full cost of University fees, plus a maintenance stipend allowance at the UKRI rate of £19,237 (2024/25 rate, increasing per annum in line with UKRI) per year for 3.5 years, and a generous research training and support grant (RTSG).

PLEASE NOTE: Only HOME fee rated applicants are eligible to apply for both studentships.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Within our programme, we are dedicated to diversifying our community. As part of our ongoing work to improve Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the NERC Panorama DTP, we are offering additional opportunities to UK/Home candidates from identified underrepresented groups: Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, those from a disadvantaged socio-economic background, and disabled people.  One of the studentships currently available is only open to candidates from one of our identified underrepresented groups.

How to Apply

Please apply directly to the University of York.

We request that all applicants complete this EDI form, which should be submitted alongwith your application form.  The data provided in the EDI form will allow us to identify applicants from underrepresented groups and also collects the EDI data needed to report to UKRI – a requirement of our funder, NERC.
