Mapping circular economy social enterprises in Yorkshire and the Humber

Supervisor: Dr Anne Velenturf

Department: School of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds

Description:

The Yorkshire Circular Lab supports circular economy implementation in Yorkshire and the Humber. We are looking to map social enterprises active in circular economy. We are particularly interested in social enterprises in key sectors for our region, including food, textiles, furniture, digital and electronics, and underutilised goods such as tools, party equipment etc. We would also be interested in quantification of environmental benefits, such as carbon reductions, that such social enterprises can deliver, and/or thoughts on innovations in (environmental) policy to better support such social enterprises in our region. This project will complement another mapping project on civic initiatives which was recently completed: https://circulareconomy.leeds.ac.uk/nearly-800-circular-economy-initiatives-in-yorkshire-and-humber-communities/.
